Caregivers: I need to hear from you. Tell me what baffles you most
about providing care? What do you struggle with?

As a gerontologist, I have met hundreds of families that are providing
care for a spouse or parent suffering from Alzheimer's.

There are dozens of books on Alzheimer's and dementia. Yet caregivers
still struggle. Having worked with these families for 15 years, I
have learned the secrets, the shortcuts. Just as important, I have
learned what doesn't work - and I want to reach more people.

Tell me what has eluded you? What do you wish you could change? What
is the hardest part of providing care for your parent or spouse? If
you would solve one problem, what would it be?

Please answer me here, or email me at ***@alumni.usc.edu

Donahue,

I tried to use your website. I was curious about what information you
might have that goes beyond what's available in the excellent
Alzheimer's Association website.

But your website needs some work. I couldn't get in.

I registered and was sent an email saying I had to respond. I did. I
got another email confirming my registration. Then I tried to login.
It asked for a password. I searched the two emails I received from your
website, but I couldn't find any password. I tried clicking the "forgot
my password" link and it asked for my email address. I typed it in and
it said "No user was found with that email address."

If you've got useful information for caregivers, do you have to password
protect it at all? It just raises another barrier between the
information and the people who need it. What's the value in that?

Thanks.

Alan
