Hi everyone,

It's been awhile since we have heard from anyone new. I want to think
that is good news and no one is having any problems with their loved
ones. However, I know that is not true. Wouldn't it be great though?

As for myself, it's been almost a year and a half since Mom passed and I
am still "moping" in my self pity. Still haven't gone through some of
her belongings that are packed away.

It is amazing how Dementia can change so many lives - it is so powerful.

I hope all of you are doing well and if there are any lurkers - let us
give you any support you might be seeking!

Hi, Lynn,

I'm sure we all wish you were right, but as you yourself said, you know
that just isn't true. I'm sure there are lots of new "members of the
club..." out there who could benefit from joining this group, but I think
the main issue is that most of them simply aren't aware we exist. There
was a thread not all that long ago that pointed out that essentially, news
groups are dinosaurs these days.

There are a number of different vehicles available for discussion on the
'net, and they don't seem to lack for traffic, although, like us, it's
usually the same crowd of regulars that inhabits each different board. But
you might check out the Alzheimer's group on Yahoo. Seems like there are a
lot of folk there who sound a lot like us.

Also, if you're a member of the professional networking group LinkedIn,
there is an Alzheimer's discussion group there, too. They're kind of
interesting because they are a mix of caregivers, people with AD, and
people who serve the AD community professionally. Lots of different topics
and viewpoints.

We may not all belong to the same regiment of the Anti-Alzheimer's Army,
but we all wear the same uniform, fight the same fight, and as the
Alzheimer's Association says, we all share a vision of a world without
Alzheimers.

Regards,
Alan
